Product Description
The AUTOMA AD Series Double Acting Pneumatic Actuator is a scotch yoke type rotary actuator designed for high torque valve automation in industrial applications. This actuator is widely used for operating ball valves, butterfly valves, plug valves, and dampers where reliable and powerful actuation is required.
Unlike rack and pinion actuators, the scotch yoke mechanism delivers higher torque at the start and end of the stroke, making it ideal for applications with high breakaway torque, such as large size or high-pressure valves.
The actuator is manufactured with a precision-machined aluminum body and hard anodized internal surfaces, ensuring durability, corrosion resistance, and long service life. It is designed according to ISO 5211 mounting standards, allowing direct installation on valves, and supports NAMUR mounting interfaces for accessories such as solenoid valves, limit switch boxes, and positioners.
The AD Series operates using compressed air supply (typically 4–7 bar) and provides 90° rotary motion for quarter-turn valve control. The double acting design uses air pressure for both opening and
closing, ensuring fast, stable, and repeatable operation in demanding industrial environments.
